X bold predictions for 2022 NBA Play

The NBA Play-In Tournament will see the Atlanta Hawks taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers, and all eyes will be on this crucial clash. We’ll be making Hawks predictions before of the Hawks-Cavs game. Trae Young and the Charlotte Hornets were easily defeated in the No. 9 vs. No. 10 matchup on Wednesday night, with Young leading the way with 24 points and 10 assists. In fact, the whole rotation performed well, as they won by 29 points.

On Friday, it’s win or go home versus Cleveland. Whoever wins this game will get the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference and will play the Miami Heat in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Hawks, as we all know, are used to playing on a big stage and will be well-positioned to secure a playoff berth once again.

For the Play-In game, here are three Hawks predictions.

Hawks Play-In Game Predictions

3. Trae Young will score 30 points and dish out 10 assists.

Young is clearly at his best when the lights are brightest, as we’ve seen. Last season, he scored over 30 points per game in the playoffs and single-handedly led the Hawks to the Eastern Conference finals. Sure, he had supporting cast members who performed their jobs, but Trae was the center of attention.

Against the Cavs, the Hawks guard took a while to get going, but he ended up putting up some impressive statistics. Ice Trae will put on a performance with their season on the line. The Cavs aren’t at full strength since Jarrett Allen is still out, and even if he returns for this crucial game, he won’t be fully recovered from his finger injury.

Young has also demolished Cleveland in the previous three games, scoring 30, 35, and 41 points, respectively. Trae is lighting up the Cavs, and with Atlanta’s season on the line, he’ll step up to the plate and have a huge night. That’s virtually always the case when it comes to his playmaking. In addition, the Cavs have surrendered 30 assists per game in their previous three games. Trae will do well in terms of scoring and facilitation.

The Hawks will shoot over 45% from beyond the arc.

Atlanta is well-known for its heavy reliance on the three-point shot. They drain it at a rate of 37.4 percent, which is second highest in the league. Kevin Huerter, John Collins, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and Lou Williams are just a few of the players that can make it rain. This all comes back to Young’s incredible playmaking, which involves compressing the defense and giving his shooters several solid looks.

The Hawks hit 50 percent from three-point range (16 for 32) on Wednesday, with Huerter and Bogdanovic combining for six triples. The Hornets aren’t known for their defense, but it’s difficult to stop Trae from doing his thing and involving the shooters. The Cavs are 15th in the league in opponent three-point percentage, but we know Atlanta will have to be effective from beyond the arc if they want to win this game. It’ll be another big night after they drained almost half of their treys in the middle of the week.

Hawks will make it to the next round.

Cleveland has a good young squad, but they’ve had a lot of bad luck with injuries. After their remarkable playoff run, the Hawks have greater experience at this level. Sure, Atlanta didn’t have a fantastic season, but they made a strong statement on Wednesday, and the team will take that energy into Friday night.

The Hawks have won their past three encounters with the Cavaliers, the most recent by a margin of 24 points. The Cavaliers are a tough squad that should be able to remain in this game as they did against Brooklyn, but Trae Young’s brilliance will propel the Hawks over them and set up a first-round meeting with Miami.
