A forest is an incredibly useful thing. It provides shade to hikers, provides a home to wildlife, supplies trees for building things, and even provides a source of clean drinking water. However, tree planting often isn’t as interesting as other activities. As such, I think it’s worth talking about the tree planting that we did for the Zelda: Skyward Sword Tree of Life event. For those of you who don’t know, the Zelda: Skyward Sword Tree of Life event is a repeatable quest chain that tasks you with planting trees in a specified area.

This week, Zelda fans will be able to get their hands on the new Zelda game, Skyward Sword. You know, the one that supposedly combines the 2D and 3D styles of the Zelda franchise? The one that’s so different it’s making all the usual Zelda fans concerned? Well, I’m here to tell you that things are pretty much as they’ve always been. Sure, the new game looks cool, and it’s entirely possible that it may be the best Zelda game yet, but I personally can’t imagine it’s going to be all that different from previous entries in the series. After all, we’re still going to be spending most of our time exploring various dungeons, exploring the overworld, and taking on large bosses.

So, you’re looking to plant a special tree in your yard—a tree that will become a landmark, or a cherished memory. Perhaps you’re looking to create a living monument to a loved one, or to honor an important event. Whatever your reason, there are certain guidelines you should follow in order to ensure the established tree lives up to your expectations.

You’re not alone if you’re unsure where to plant the Tree of Life in Skyward Sword. The seedling is easy to get, but the game is unclear on what to do with it once you have it.

You’ve come to the correct spot if you’re looking for a certain section of the Hero’s Song. Our Skyward Sword Tree of Life guide will show you how to get the seedling and where to plant it so you may continue your journey.

Bringing the Thunder Dragon Back to Life

Obtaining the seed is a simple, though time-consuming, procedure. Start in Lanayru Caves and make your way to Lanayru Gorge. A large circle may be seen towards the gorge’s middle. This is all that’s left of the Thunder Dragon, and luckily for you, Time Stones can bring it back to life – although only for a short time.

The next stage is to guide a minecart carrying a Time Stone down the canyon until it reaches the dragon’s skeletal remains. This is more of a hassle than a challenge, but there is always a clear path ahead.

Where Should the Tree of Life Be Planted?

Bring the dragon back to life and listen to its tale. Then follow the route to the east to locate the seedling. After that, return to the skies and land at Faron Woods. You’ll locate the perfect location for planting the seedling in the Sealed Temple, close to where Groose sits.

After then, use the time gate to return to your original time. Return to the Sealed Temple and take the fruit from there. Give it to the dragon, then collect your prize: the Hero’s Song’s third section.

That’s all there is to know about where to plant the Tree of Life in Skyward Sword; for more information, see our other Skyward Sword tutorials.
