We’re not sure what “it” is that Bam Adebayo is “keeping simple”, but he’s not being completely straightforward when asked about it. That’s because Bam has signed a contract with the Miami Heat for $163 million (over six years), and so in order to be honest about how he feels about the situation, we need to ask him what that means when someone takes on that sort of financial burden.

The Miami Heat selected Bam Adebayo with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. The 6-foot-10 big man out of Kentucky is a greenhorn with a lot to learn, but he has a lot of potential. The Heat have a lot of high-ceiling players, so the hope is that Adebayo will have an opportunity to play.

The NBA has struggled to draw the attention of teenagers, who have followed the league with less and less enthusiasm as the years pass. The reasons for this are many, but one of the more prevalent is the lack of compelling and entertaining stories to tell. In the last few years, the NBA has attempted to remedy this by signing players with questions and no reputations. It was a no-brainer for Bam Adebayo to receive a lucrative contract for his potential, but if he doesn’t deliver he is just another bust.

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo has stepped up for the 2019-20 season and his good play has earned him a contract extension. The former first-rounder signed a max contract last fall, just weeks after teaming up with Jimmy Butler to lead the Heat to the NBA Finals. Although money can change a man or his motives, Adebayo openly states that his priorities are in order.

Bam Adebayo is not feeling the pressure of his $163 million contract

LeBron James won his fourth ring and led the Lakers to a six-game win streak over Bama Adebayo and the Miami Heat. A few weeks later, Adebayo was given a new contract to sign. The Heat signed their All-Star center to a four-year, $163 million contract extension in November, just weeks before the 2020-21 season begins. Of course, you would think that this deal would put extra pressure on Adebayo, who signed a new contract at the age of 23. But in an interview with GQ earlier this year, he tried to keep things in perspective. The pressure is like a homeless man trying to find his next meal. It’s the pressure. That’s responsibility. I don’t feel that pressure. You must take responsibility for the rewards you receive. What’s the saying? We give more, we expect more. Bam Adebayo Based on such answers, the Heat should be confident in Adebayo’s future. He is determined not to let money change his personality and motivation.

Adebayo played very well in his first year of extension

COMPARED TO: What is Bama Adebayo’s real name? The Miami Heat decided to build their future around Adebayo, and the initial investment has paid off. The 23-year-old big man averaged 18.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 64 regular season games during the 2020-21 season. He shot 57 percent from the field and 79.9 percent from the free throw line. The Heat finished the season with a 40-32 record and ranked sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Heath made the right decision and built around Adebayo

COMPARED TO: How Bam Adebayo’s mother groomed him for NBA success When the Miami Heat acquired Jimmy Butler in the summer of 2019, it’s safe to say the move was motivated by a desire to build a game around a proven superstar. Butler has been very good for the Heat, and he has proven that management made the right move by acquiring him. However, the team has had – knowingly or unknowingly – a budding superstar in Adebayo from the start as a full-time starter for the 2019-20 season. Butler has two seasons left on his current contract, and Adebayo has made it clear that he wants to stay in Miami long-term. If both men stay and continue to play at a high level, don’t be surprised if the Heat challenge the Brooklyn Nets for a possible Eastern Conference championship. Like Sportscasting on Facebook.
